🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1951, a couple in Lucerne Valley, California, observed pencil-shaped, silvery aerial objects. The witnesses described two objects initially and then one more, all silent and without visible emissions. Although no planes were seen, the investigating officer concluded they were likely tow targets from Muroc Air Base. The objects performed strange maneuvers, such as spinning and changing shape, which caused confusion. The witnesses, who were competent and not seeking publicity, did not take photos, but their testimony was detailed and sincere. The official report classified it as likely a tow target, though other explanations were not ruled out.
