🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1951, an East African Airlines flight became the center of a UFO report that left pilots and passengers baffled. While flying over Kenya, they spotted a bright, metallic, cylindrical object with vertical fins—an appearance impossible to confuse with a balloon or meteor. The pilot, Capt. Bicknell, and his crew observed it for 17 minutes, noting that it left no trail, had no visible propulsion, and moved at astonishing speeds. Although initially considered a weather balloon, this was quickly dismissed after checking the object's characteristics. The detailed description and attempts to photograph it—though yielding ambiguous results—turned this case into one of the most enigmatic UFO sightings.
The object, described as a cylindrical craft over 200 feet long, remained stationary for several minutes before ascending rapidly eastward. Despite ideal weather conditions, no clear explanation emerged. Researchers of the time, including the U.S. Consulate in Dar es Salaam, reviewed the data and concluded it was neither an astronomical phenomenon nor a perceptual error. However, the photos and recordings offered no clarity, and the mystery remained. This case, documented in declassified files, remains a fascinating testament to how science and human curiosity strive to make sense of the inexplicable.
