Summary

In March 1951, a U.S. Army lieutenant and his wife observed a mysterious object while driving near McClellan Air Force Base in California. The object, described as round, cylindrical, and with white tails, was estimated to be 200 feet in diameter and hovering at 2000 feet. They watched it for two minutes, enough time to notice it moving at incredible speed northward, disappearing in seconds. Despite clear visibility and no solar reflections, they couldn't identify it as a balloon, aircraft, or weather phenomenon.

The air base investigated but found no launch data or nearby aircraft. The short duration and unusual description led to classifying it as unidentified. Although the initial report suggested it might be a balloon, the lack of concrete evidence kept the mystery. This case is another example of many UFO reports that remain unsolved, fueling curiosity and theories about the unknown.
