🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1951, a pilot reported seeing a dark, cigar-shaped object near Cleveland, Ohio. The object, about 18 to 20 feet long and resembling a buzz bomb, was moving at high speed westward at approximately 600 feet altitude. Although several hypotheses were considered—balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena—the case was eventually classified as an aircraft. This sighting was recorded under Project 10073 and shared with multiple government agencies.
The original report contained OCR errors, such as "Was Bolloon" instead of "Balloon," and other misspelled terms. Despite insufficient data for a definitive conclusion, the pilot's detailed account was documented and sent to various air bases and agencies, including the CIA and the Pentagon. This declassified document is part of the early serious records of UFO sightings in the United States.
