In August 1951, at Grenier Air Base in New Hampshire, four airmen observed two silvery spherical objects connected by a dark, unidentified body. One was larger than the other. The phenomenon lasted about 15 minutes, with the objects first descending slowly and then rapidly ascending into the clouds. Although a balloon with a payload was considered, the lack of concrete data prevented a definitive evaluation. The weather was clear but visibility was limited by haze.

The description of the objects as spherical and metallic generated some surprise, but the official report deemed the information insufficient for a conclusive assessment.
