🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1951, two U.S. airmen observed several bright orange objects over Claremont, California. Six objects appeared in an incomplete circle formation, followed later by a single object. All were flying at high altitude, between 10,000 and 12,000 feet. No aerodynamic features, exhaust trails, or sound were detected. The formation moved straight west-northwest, eventually disappearing behind a coastal fog bank. The trained observers, familiar with conventional aircraft, could not identify the objects as balloons, planes, or astronomical phenomena.
The official report concluded the case was "unidentified," as there was insufficient data to determine the nature of the objects. Military authorities did not conduct further investigation, and the document remained classified for over a decade. Today, this case remains a mystery for UFO researchers.
