🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1951, a U.S. Air Force officer reported an unidentified flying object during a night mission from Andrews AFB. The pilot described a blue streak of light that turned white, moving at an estimated speed of over 500 miles per hour. The object maintained a ground-parallel trajectory for about five seconds before suddenly disappearing. Despite ideal weather conditions, the pilot could not identify it as a known aircraft or rocket.
The Air Force classified the report as "astronomical" and filed it without further investigation. The responsible officer admitted no clear explanation for the phenomenon, though ruled out a meteor. This case, like many from the era, was sent to Project Blue Book and remained unresolved. The pilot's detailed and precise description remains intriguing and lacks a conventional explanation to this day.
