🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1951, a radar station in North Truro, Massachusetts recorded an unidentified object appearing on its screens. The report, part of Project 10073, describes a signal that remained visible for approximately 4 minutes, with an estimated speed of 2070 mph. Although several explanations were considered, such as balloons or meteors, the data was insufficient for a clear conclusion. The signal showed unusual characteristics, such as an elongated shape and weak intensity, suggesting it could have been an unidentified flying object. Investigators concluded there was no physical evidence and the most plausible explanation remained uncertain.
The report also mentions that weather conditions did not support anomalous propagation due to thermal inversion, and the possibility of a meteor could not be ruled out. However, the tracking duration and object direction did not match typical meteor behavior. The final report concludes there was insufficient information to make a meaningful evaluation, leaving open the possibility that the object was something unusual.
