🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A bright object with an incandescent glow was observed in the sky over Buena Vista, Colorado, on October 28, 1951. The witness, a qualified pilot, described an object moving in a descending path at an estimated angle of about 20 degrees. The observation lasted approximately 30 seconds, with the object traveling from north to south. Although initially considered a meteor or balloon, the nature of the phenomenon remained unclear.
After the object passed, a tail or incandescent glow was noted that changed to a white color. The pilot's description was clear and direct, adding credibility to the sighting. Despite investigations, no definitive conclusion was reached regarding the object's identity, and it was recorded as an unidentified case. This report, part of Project 10073, reflects the uncertainty surrounding many sightings of the time.
