🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A bright object was observed in the sky over the Four Corners area in Colorado in October 1951. Witnesses described it as starting white, then turning red, and finally green, resembling a shooting star. The object traveled from the zenith to the southwest, covering a 30-degree arc. Despite its intense brightness, it disappeared suddenly without a trace. The observation was brief, and no sound or clear speed was reported.
The official evaluation considered several possibilities: balloon, aircraft, or astronomical phenomenon, but no definitive conclusion was reached. The lack of additional data and the event's brevity made identification difficult. Although initially thought to be a shooting star, its unusual color change and behavior raised doubts. The official report concluded there was insufficient information for a conclusive evaluation.
