🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1951, two civilians in Mojave, California reported a circular object measuring 30 feet in diameter and 8 feet thick. They described a vivid blue-green color with a surrounding aura and a dark green band that always remained horizontal to the ground. The object moved silently, from hovering to speeds over 100 mph. It approached within 12 feet of the witnesses and performed complex maneuvers before disappearing behind hills. Despite the detailed description, authorities concluded the sighting had psychological causes.
The report was submitted in August 1952, but the sighting occurred in November 1951. The witnesses, employed by the Forestry Service, claimed to have experience in aircraft observation. However, the report noted that one of them was an unpublished historical novelist, raising questions about the credibility of the testimony. Despite this, the detailed and consistent description of the object and its movements adds credibility to their account.
