🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A San Antonio, Texas police officer reported in 1951 having seen an object reflecting sunlight as if it were an airplane. The object was traveling at an impressive speed, similar to a meteor, without leaving a fire trail or showing signs of disintegration. The witness observed it for two seconds as it crossed the horizon from west to east, maintaining a parallel path to the Earth. Although initially considered a possible meteor, the object's description did not match typical characteristics. The sighting coincided with a meteor being seen in other parts of the southwestern United States, but testimonies did not fully align.
The report was evaluated by Dr. LaPaz, who concluded it was a meteor. However, the officer's testimony added details that didn't fit the norm, such as the object's controlled appearance and trajectory. This case is part of a series of UFO sightings recorded in the 1950s, where authorities tried to explain unknown aerial phenomena using the scientific data available at the time.
