A 1951 report describes a bright object in the southeast that appeared to follow Venus, Spica, and Saturn. The witness described it as too bright to be a star and observed it for about an hour before it disappeared with daylight. The initial report concluded it was likely a balloon, but also considered the possibility of an aircraft or an astronomical body.
The witness, a weather observer, insisted it wasn't an illusion and described details like the object's size and brightness increasing over 20 minutes, its yellow color, and its appearance resembling a chandelier with a spotlight. Later, he clarified he believed it was a rare celestial phenomenon in an 806-year cycle, though he expressed surprise that air authorities had not issued warnings about it.
