🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1952, an observer reported seeing a metallic sphere about 10 feet in diameter with a copper-like color northwest of Moody AFB, Georgia. The object appeared suddenly from what seemed like a stationary position, accelerating with a large oscillation that gradually became smaller. It left a zig-zag exhaust trail and had a sharply defined outline, suggesting it was solid. The observer, in a T-33 aircraft, saw the object for five seconds before it disappeared by accelerating directly away from their line of sight. Although the report was completed in 1959, seven years after the sighting, it was considered too old to be of value.
The report includes a detailed account from the pilot, who described the object as possibly a weather balloon, though no conclusive evidence supported that. The delayed testimony, while late, provides a precise description of the object's appearance and behavior, making it a notable entry in the history of UFO sightings.
