🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 1952 report describes a spherical UFO with a bright tail seen near Washington, Indiana. Three civilians observed the object while driving westward, shortly after sunset. The object, grayish with orange tones, appeared as a long, luminous streak in the sky. Initially, the witnesses thought it was part of the sun reflecting off clouds, but soon noticed it was moving rapidly. The object turned northeast and, for a moment, slowed down and shortened its exhaust-like tail before disappearing from view. The observers heard no sound and estimated the object was visible for about four minutes.
The UFO description includes details like its spherical shape, similar to a basketball, and a tail that varied in size and brightness. Despite contacting Attica Air Force Base for information, no conventional explanation was found. The weather in the area didn't record conditions that could explain the sighting, and no physical evidence was found. The incident was deemed insufficient for a definitive conclusion, but remains an intriguing case in UFO history.
