Summary

In April 1952, two U.S. Navy officers reported an unidentified object while flying over Memphis, Tennessee. The object, described as an inverted bowl with vertical slots, appeared at 2000 feet and moved at high speed. The pilots observed the phenomenon for 45 to 60 seconds without being able to identify its nature. The object had an intense brightness and a glowing red exhaust trail, making it stand out against the overcast sky. Despite the clear description, no definitive conclusions were drawn about its origin.

The official report does not include photos or sketches of the object, limiting the possibility of visual analysis. However, the details provided by the witnesses are precise and consistent in several aspects. The object made no audible noise and did not perform any maneuvers, suggesting a straight and stable movement. Although several explanations were considered, such as balloons or astronomical phenomena, the report concluded that there was insufficient data for a definitive evaluation. This case remains one of the many unresolved mysteries of Project 10073.
