🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1952, a civilian in Colorado Springs reported seeing an unusual aerial object shaped like a flying wing. The witness described a dark object with a luminous glow, swept wings, and no visible fuselage. Despite its estimated size—10 times larger than a jet fighter—no sound was heard during the observation. The object moved straight and level before disappearing behind a row of rooftops. The official report concluded that the data was insufficient to determine the nature of the sighting.
The report details that the sighting occurred at 22:15 local time on April 24, 1952. The observer, a non-technical civilian, saw the object from his backyard through bare tree branches. Although several explanations were considered, including balloons or astronomical phenomena, the report did not rule out a conventional aircraft, though its size and lack of sound made it unusual. The object remained at a moderate altitude and speed, without showing signs of acceleration or complex maneuvers.
