Summary

In May 1952, U.S. Army intelligence officer Lieutenant Ruppelt was sent to George AFB in California to investigate a series of unidentified flying object sightings. These reports, from military personnel, included descriptions of round, metallic objects and unusual shapes. Over three weeks, nine sightings were recorded. While some were attributed to weather balloons launched from Edwards AFB, others remained unexplained. Ruppelt coordinated with radar and fighter jets to observe one of the objects, but the effort was unsuccessful. The collaboration between military units was praised, yet the true nature of the objects remains a mystery.
