Summary

In May 1952, a lieutenant colonel and his wife in Albuquerque, New Mexico, observed two silver disc-shaped objects. The first sighting occurred southwest of Kirtland Air Force Base, and the second appeared minutes later. Both objects moved northeast without making noise or showing visible propulsion. Attempts to detect them with radar were unsuccessful. The report classified the phenomenon as "possibly a balloon," though other explanations were not ruled out. The couple, considered reliable, described the shapes and movements of the objects, which remained between 5 and 10 minutes at high altitude.

The case was documented by the 34th Air Division as part of reports on unconventional aircraft. Although no photos were taken and radar detection failed, the observers' testimony was deemed truthful. The official report did not reach a definitive conclusion but suggested the possibility of weather balloons. However, the description of the objects and their unusual behavior generated some interest among researchers at the time. This document, now declassified, is part of the historical record of UFO sightings in the 1950s.
