🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1952, a witness in California observed a spherical object emitting bright green flames and leaving a yellow tail. The sighting occurred at 4 a.m., while the observer was driving along a highway about 17 miles south of Fresno. The object appeared in the sky, arched across a 20-degree arc, and disappeared within seconds. Although a meteor was considered, its size, color, and speed made it different from the usual. The official report could not identify the object with certainty, and other explanations like balloons or aircraft were ruled out.
The witness, a civilian man, described the object as a sphere with a yellow tail as long as its diameter. The green flames were visible even with partially cloudy skies. Despite the brief duration of the sighting, the testimony was detailed and sent to military authorities. There were no interception attempts or additional confirmations, leaving the case unresolved. This kind of report, although common at the time, remains a mystery for many researchers.
