🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1952, a woman from the Bronx, New York, along with her family and a neighbor, observed an unidentified flying object. The incident occurred around 1:40 in the morning, when the group saw a round and flat object that suddenly rose and flew away at high speed toward Manhattan. The witness, a housewife with basic education, described the object as thick with a grayish light around it. Although she was initially unsure of what she was seeing, her neighbors suggested it was a flying saucer. The official report mentions six witnesses, including her husband, two children, and a neighbor, and although no photos were taken, the testimony was recorded by a Defense Department officer. The case was filed as "anomalous," but no clear explanation was offered.
The object was observed for a few minutes and disappeared suddenly, leaving no trace. Although no sound was heard, the witnesses agreed on the visual description and the direction of movement. The official report, though incomplete and with censored data, suggests the object was neither a natural phenomenon nor a conventional aircraft. Although no further investigations were conducted, the testimony was considered sufficient to include it in the records of unidentified aerial phenomena. This case is one of many that remain unsolved, contributing to the mystery surrounding UFO sightings in the 1950s.
