🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1952, a woman and her 16-year-old son in Phoenix, Arizona, observed an object shaped like a flying wing, roughly the size of a B-36 bomber. They described it as a dull grey with a series of orange glowing windows on the bottom. It traveled at jet fighter speed, with no visible propulsion or sound. The sighting occurred at night under clear weather conditions with good visibility. The woman insisted it was something entirely new to her, visible to anyone with average eyesight. Her son even made a drawing of the object, and both reported the sighting to local authorities. Although military investigators considered the possibility of a conventional aircraft, no evidence supported that theory.
The official report includes details on the object's direction, duration, and weather conditions. The woman noted the object moved silently, with the orange lights being its only distinct feature. Despite several commercial aircraft landing at the nearby airport at the same time, none matched the observed object. The handling officer concluded the report held no special significance, but the testimonies and sketches suggest an unusual experience.
