Reddish object spotted near San Rafael

An unidentified object was sighted for approximately one minute on July 28, 1952, near San Rafael, California. Observers, including retired Lieutenant Grover C. Owens, described the object as star-shaped but more like a bulb, with a reddish-yellow color. It was traveling at about 150 miles per hour without making any sound, maintaining a straight course at an altitude between 10,000 and 15,000 feet. Although one observer suggested it might be an aircraft with landing lights on, the object could not be positively identified. The weather was clear with good visibility, and while a Navy fighter was in the area, it was not linked to the sighting. No physical evidence was found.
