🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1952, a state trooper in Pendleton, Oregon, reported the sighting of an unidentified flying object described as spherical and silver in color. The object was observed traveling at a high speed at an estimated altitude of 4,000 feet, with no radar contact recorded in the area. The witness, accompanied by five cars of civilians, observed the object for five minutes. The report notes that the object performed unusual maneuvers, such as "dipping," and disappeared heading north. Despite the presence of a B-36 aircraft formation in the area, there was no confirmation of a connection to the sighting.
The document, classified and later declassified, is part of the records from the 25th Air Division of the U.S. Air Force. The responsible officer, Major Neil A. Vosburgh, submitted the report following established protocols. Although the object was not identified, the case was meticulously documented, including details such as excellent visibility, wind direction, and a detailed description from the witness. This type of report was common during the Cold War era, when UFO sightings generated concern and study by military authorities.
