Summary

In July 1952, a carpenter and his wife observed an unidentified object near Tacoma, Washington. The object appeared as a silver glow at an altitude of between 10,000 and 15,000 feet. They saw it for approximately 2 minutes, and it was moving very slowly, with a "dipping" motion. The weather conditions were ideal: completely clear sky and unobstructed vision. There was no radar contact in the area, making it difficult to identify the phenomenon. The description of the object is brief but clear, and the sighting was confirmed by two witnesses.

The report was initially classified but later downgraded. The responsible officer sent it to the Air Intelligence Center in Dayton, Ohio, for analysis. Although no conclusive explanation was reached, the case was included in the official records of unidentified sightings. This type of report was common in the 1950s, a period in which UFOs generated great interest and concern among military authorities.
