Summary

In July 1952, an experienced pilot reported a bright, metallic, unidentified object near Colorado Springs. The object, described as spherical and lacking aerodynamic features such as wings or a tail, was observed at a distance of 7 to 8 miles. The pilot, a 33-year-old commercial licensed aviator with over 1600 flight hours, noted the object had no visible exhaust and disappeared into a cloud bank. He was flying a Cessna 170 at the time, and the object was seen for about a minute.

The report also mentions another witness, a 20-year-old soldier obtaining his private pilot license. He had previously seen a similar object in July or August of the same year near Albuquerque. Although the possibility of a conventional aircraft was considered, no evidence supported this theory. The report remained classified for decades, but today it offers a glimpse into one of the many aerial mysteries of history.
