🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1952, three guards at the Norfolk Prison Colony in Massachusetts observed a mysterious object that appeared as a dark, flat shadow. The object, described as round and slightly tilted, was moving slowly southward at a low altitude. Although initially silent, it was followed by a sudden, loud noise. The witnesses saw it for only a few seconds before it disappeared behind a building, suddenly accelerating upward. The night was clear, without a moon, but the stars were visible, making the object stand out by its darkness. Despite the detailed description, there was no military activity or conventional explanation for the phenomenon.
The guards, who worked at the prison, were not experts in aerial sightings but agreed on their observations. The object showed no aerodynamic features or propulsion trail, making it unusual. Although military authorities were contacted, no identification or follow-up action was taken. The official report classified the sighting as unexplained, and the witnesses reported no previous similar experiences. The description of the object as a dark, circular shadow, along with its unexpected behavior, remains a mystery in UFO files.
