In July 1952, a member of the Air Force Band at Moody AFB, Georgia, reported seeing unidentified flying objects near Lakeland. The witness, an experienced aircraft technician and military veteran, observed three bright objects that rapidly changed colors from white to red, then to blue and back again. The objects performed unusual maneuvers, such as ascending, descending, hovering, and circling, without leaving a trail or emitting sound. The witness estimated they were hundreds of kilometers away and at altitudes above 15,000 meters, a behavior that did not match any known aircraft.
