Summary

In July 1952, a member of the Air Force Band at Moody AFB, Georgia, reported seeing unidentified flying objects near Lakeland. The witness, an experienced aircraft technician and military veteran, observed three bright objects that rapidly changed colors from white to red, then to blue and back again. The objects performed unusual maneuvers, such as ascending, descending, hovering, and circling, without leaving a trail or emitting sound. The witness estimated they were hundreds of kilometers away and at altitudes above 15,000 meters, a behavior that did not match any known aircraft. The observation lasted about seven minutes, and later two dimmer objects appeared, performing similar movements.

The airbase confirmed there were no adverse weather conditions affecting visibility, and no aerial activity was recorded in the area during the incident. The report, classified for national security reasons, highlighted the consistency and sincerity of the witness, who denied any connection to conventional objects. Despite the lack of physical evidence, the case was filed without resolution, adding another mystery to the long history of UFO sightings in the United States.
