🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
This declassified document compiles two distinct incidents involving the observation of unidentified flying objects near U.S. military bases. In the first case, three U.S. airmen at Presque Isle Air Force Base in Maine observed a round, metallic object on July 24, 1952. The object hovered silently in the sky, moved faster than a jet, and then suddenly disappeared after ascending. Although the possibility of it being a C-47 aircraft was considered, the witnesses—serving for varying lengths of time—described it as small, bright, and without aerodynamic features. While their distance and altitude estimates were imprecise, the report concluded that the airmen were truthful.
The second incident occurred near Columbus, Ohio, between 7:15 PM and 8:10 PM. Between two and four round or oval-shaped objects were reported flying at high altitudes (between 50,000 and 70,000 feet) toward the southwest. A ground observer and a pilot confirmed the presence of the objects, stating they were not balloons or conventional aircraft. The objects vanished suddenly without a trace, moving at speeds beyond normal. Weather conditions were favorable, adding credibility to the reports.
