🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1952, at Ashiya Air Base in Japan, a sergeant and his wife observed a bright white object for a few seconds. The object appeared suddenly above the southern horizon and quickly disappeared towards the north. Initially thought to be an astronomical light or a rocket, it was later considered as fireworks. However, the official report could not confirm its identity.
The report notes that the observers did not detect any sounds or mechanical features, creating some uncertainty. Additionally, control tower operators did not report any aerial activity in the area. Despite normal weather conditions, the phenomenon had no clear explanation. Eventually, it was suggested that it might have been a weather balloon or an optical illusion, but the case remains unresolved.
