In August 1952, in Sacramento, California, two sightings of an unidentified object were recorded, drawing the attention of investigators at the time. The first case occurred on August 3rd, when a civilian reported seeing a red, bright object resembling a rocket or flare for eleven minutes. Initially thought to be an aircraft in distress, no clear explanation was found. Investigators concluded it could have been a balloon or that there was simply not enough information to determine its nature.
A few days later, on August 7th at 1:30 a.m., another observation was recorded from a building in the same city. The witness described a red object that turned bright red, without making any sound, and moving at an elevation above 45°. The object changed direction, speed, size, and brightness, ruling out the possibility of it being an astronomical phenomenon or a known object. Despite the clarity of the testimony, the report did not reach a definitive conclusion, rating the source as "Fair" and failing to identify the object.
