🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Fort Bragg, California, reported seeing an unidentified object with a flat shape and a diameter of four feet. The account, dated 1952, mentions that the object remained stationary in the air and no sound was heard. The observer, a forest lookout, saw the object at an estimated altitude of 5500 feet. Although contact was made with the Willits air base, there was no visual confirmation or contact with the object. Fighters were scrambled, but they failed to spot it. The report suggests that initially it was thought to be weather balloons, but no evidence supported this theory.
The report includes details such as the exact time of the sighting, at 16:55 on August 3, 1952, and the name of the observer. Although the official report does not identify the object, its detailed description and lack of conventional explanation add interest to this case. Like many other reports from the era, this document reflects the confusion and mystery surrounding unidentified sightings in the 1950s.
