🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1952, a witness in Red Bluff, California, reported a round, bluish object that suddenly appeared in the sky. Mary Barr, an experienced observer from the Ground Observer Corps, described the object as the size of an automobile headlight and moving at high speed toward the south at approximately 3,000 feet altitude. The sighting lasted about one minute and no sound was reported. The observation was officially recorded by air authorities, although no clear explanation was found.
The area had clear weather conditions with 30 miles of visibility, increasing the credibility of the testimony. A United Airlines DC-4 was in the area around that time, but it was not considered responsible for the sighting. Despite investigations, the object remained unidentified, adding a touch of mystery to this case from the 1950s UFO files.
