Summary

In August 1952, a commercial pilot reported seeing three disc-shaped objects flying at high speed near a DC-3 aircraft at 3000 feet. The pilot and crew observed the objects performing rapid maneuvers around the plane. A civilian had seen a similar object over Lima the previous day, suggesting the sighting was not an isolated event. Although no photos were taken, the pilot's testimony and the coincidence with another sighting raised interest. Authorities considered the possibility of balloons or astronomical phenomena, but no definitive conclusion was reached.

The report, published by the newspaper "La Presna," was brought to the attention of military authorities as part of Project 10073. Cases where multiple witnesses agree on the description are often harder to explain with conventional phenomena. Despite the brief observation (15 to 20 seconds), the pilot's testimony and the civilian's earlier sighting added weight to the description. The fact that the objects were seen from the air rather than from the ground added a unique element to the case, which did not easily fit into typical categories of explanations.
