🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1952, around 20 airmen and two civilians at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, reported sightings of unidentified aerial objects. Witnesses described one to three elongated objects moving at extraordinary speeds, exceeding 600 miles per hour. One object made abrupt turns and briefly hovered before vanishing. Despite numerous observers, including experienced non-commissioned officers, no photographs or radar contact were obtained, and the report ruled out balloons or astronomical phenomena.
The report detailed that witnesses described the object as flexible, emitting a white light likely reflecting sunlight. While most saw a single object, some reported two or three, leading to some confusion. The base attempted radar contact, but the equipment was inoperative. The official report deemed the testimonies credible but failed to provide a clear explanation for the event.
