🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1952, a Delta Airlines technician in Atlanta observed a bright object moving silently across the sky. The witness, familiar with aircraft, described an intense white light resembling an identification light but far brighter. The object moved up and down, hovered, and made no sound. The sighting lasted 15 to 20 minutes and was viewed from a bedroom window. Others in the area also reported similar sightings.
Authorities considered the possibility of a weather balloon released by the CAA, as wind patterns matched the object's path. Although no aircraft were visually confirmed, astronomical or conventional aviation explanations were ruled out. The official report suggests it was likely a balloon, but other possibilities were not entirely dismissed.
