🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1952, a witness in Palmyra, Pennsylvania, reported observing a luminous object that remained fixed in the sky for five minutes. The report notes that the object showed no resemblance to reflections from nearby aircraft, generating some uncertainty about its nature. Although no air intercept actions were taken, the possibility of it being a weather balloon was considered. The weather conditions were clear and cloudless, which facilitated the observation.
The official report classifies the case as "possibly a balloon," but does not rule out other explanations. The description of the object as a "bright point of light" that blinked and remained stationary suggests it was neither an astronomical phenomenon nor a conventional aircraft. The absence of noise and the object's position near the horizon add mystery to the case. Although no further actions were taken, the report reflects the typical uncertainty of many UFO cases from that era.
