Summary

In August 1952, a U.S. Air Force pilot and co-pilot observed two greenish-blue flashes over the Atlantic Ocean near the Moroccan coast. The first flash, described as resembling gunfire or an explosion, appeared about 50 to 75 miles from their aircraft. Five minutes later, an identical flash was seen at the same location. Despite returning to the area to investigate, no surface vessels or signs of fire or explosion were found. The nature of the phenomenon remained unexplained, and conventional explanations like balloons or astronomical events were ruled out.

The official report concluded there was insufficient data to evaluate the event. Although several hypotheses were considered, none proved conclusive. This case is part of a series of unidentified aerial observations that generated interest at the time but were never definitively resolved. The lack of physical evidence and the inability to reproduce the observation left the mystery unsolved.
