🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1952, a civilian observer in Allen, Maryland, spotted an unidentified aerial object for over thirty minutes. The object, described as round with streamers and emitting a greenish-white light with a red rim, was moving northeast at around 2000 feet. Despite searches using electronic equipment, no aircraft or balloon was found to explain the sighting. The observation was made with binoculars and no interception attempts were recorded.
The report classifies the object as "possibly astronomical" or "probably a balloon," but no definitive conclusion was reached. The clear sky and ten-mile visibility aided the observation, although the reliability of the witness was unknown. This case is part of the U.S. Air Force files during the period of study of unidentified aerial phenomena.
