🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1952, a USAF pilot reported an unidentified flying object near Santa Barbara, California. The sighting occurred at an altitude of 32,098 feet and lasted about 30 seconds. The object was moving at high speed, had a bright white color, and followed a flat trajectory. Despite direct visual observation, the object could not be identified with certainty.
Authorities considered several possibilities: balloon, aircraft, or even an astronomical phenomenon. However, no conventional explanation proved satisfactory. The report was distributed to multiple air and technology intelligence units, indicating the serious interest generated by the case. Although the pilot did not reveal their rank, the fact that they were an air evacuation officer suggests the incident was treated with some level of confidentiality.
