Summary

In October 1952, three civilians in Akureyri, Iceland, observed between 4 and 5 spherical objects flying at high speed over the northern coast of the country. The witnesses reported that the objects emitted neither sound nor flame and remained visible for two minutes. The sightings were made from two different locations, which increases the credibility of the observation. Although no photos were taken, the testimony was collected through a newspaper clipping, indicating a reliable local source. The lack of additional data such as altitude or precise direction made further evaluation difficult.

The Keflavík Air Base in Iceland recorded the incident as part of Project 10073, a program investigating unidentified flying objects. Despite various theories, ranging from balloons to astronomical phenomena, the report concluded that there was insufficient information to identify the nature of the objects with certainty. The report was classified and gradually downgraded over time, eventually declassified after 12 years. This case remains an unsolved mystery in UFO history.
