🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A bright white and orange object was observed at Mitchel AFB, New York, in December 1952. Several tower operators reported it with varying elevation angles and directions. Although initially puzzling, the investigation concluded it was the planet Jupiter. Astronomical data matched the witnesses' descriptions, including brightness, trajectory, and the time it disappeared below the horizon. Observers used binoculars and detailed accounts, aiding in confirming the object's identity. This case highlighted collaboration between intelligence personnel and astronomers, resolving what could have been misinterpreted as an unexplained phenomenon.
