🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1952, a co-pilot on a London-to-Frankfurt commercial flight spotted a bright object with a faint tail crossing their path at high speed. The aircraft was flying at 5500 feet when the streak-shaped object appeared suddenly and vanished within 4 to 5 seconds. The pilot couldn’t see it, and no other aircraft were reported nearby. Despite the detailed description, officials concluded it was likely a meteor. The lack of photographic evidence and the brief duration of the sighting made it hard to evaluate the event.
