🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A U.S. Air Force pilot reported an unidentified spherical object with a bright silver color in December 1952 near Greensboro, North Carolina. The incident occurred while flying at 25,000 feet, with the object observed for about 20 seconds as it moved rapidly from a high position at 11 o'clock to disappear at 6 o'clock. Although other explanations like aircraft or weather balloons were considered, the official conclusion suggested it might have been a balloon. The case is part of a series of Cold War-era sightings that sparked debates about the nature of observed objects.
