Summary

A civilian air engineer reported in December 1952 witnessing a bright green spherical object near San Antonio, Texas. While driving along Freer-Tilden Highway, he observed a pale green light moving rapidly in a southeasterly direction. The object, described as similar to a "Roman candle ball," appeared at about 15 degrees above the horizon and traveled faster than jet aircraft but slower than a meteor. The object's light intensity varied, and after a few seconds, it took a downward trajectory and vanished. The witness, employed at Kelly Air Force Base, could not identify it as a meteor or aircraft. Although no identification measures were taken and no physical evidence was found, the report concluded it was likely a meteor. The case was documented under Project 10073, a U.S. Air Force initiative to investigate unidentified sightings.
