A witness in Texas observed a bright blue-white object with a fire and smoke trail on December 27, 1952. The object appeared in the southeast at around 2000-4000 feet and traveled northwest, climbing to about a mile and a half. It was estimated to be moving at speeds up to 1000 mph. The witness and four others saw it, and although no conventional aircraft was identified, it was suggested it could have been a jet with afterburners. The object disappeared silently, creating mystery and speculation.
