🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1953, two U.S. Air Force pilots observed a formation of blue lights approaching their aircraft over Santa Ana, California. The object appeared suddenly in the clear sky, moving at an astonishing speed. The aircraft commander made a sudden left turn to avoid a collision, but the objects momentarily stopped, slightly rose, and then disappeared. The pilots, familiar with the optical characteristics of their aircraft, ruled out reflections or optical illusions.
The investigation concluded that the objects were likely formation lights from a KC-97, an aerial refueling aircraft in the area. Despite this explanation, the pilots' testimony and the detailed description of the phenomenon add a touch of mystery to this case, typical of UFO reports from that era.
