Summary

In January 1953, around twenty people in Gadsden, Alabama, observed an unidentified flying object. Among the witnesses were key figures such as the Civil Air Defense Director and the airport manager. The object was seen for approximately five to ten minutes, traveling from the eastern to the western horizon at an estimated altitude of 8,000 to 9,000 feet. Witnesses described a bright, multicolored mass, but could not determine its exact size or shape.

The object made no sound and left no exhaust trail, adding to its mystery. Weather conditions were clear, with visibility of 12 to 15 miles and moderate winds. Despite the attention of multiple witnesses, no photographs or physical evidence were obtained. The absence of air traffic in the area and no meteorological conditions that could explain the sighting added to the enigma of this case.
