🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1953, a sailor in Honolulu, Hawaii, reported a bright and fast-moving object in the sky. He observed it from a moving car for three minutes, describing a circular object with intense light that traveled in a straight line before making a 45-degree turn and disappearing. He noted no aerodynamic features, sounds, or propulsion systems, and stated it did not resemble any conventional aircraft he had seen. Weather conditions were clear, with light winds, and no weather balloons were reported in the area at the time.
The official conclusion was that it was likely an aircraft, though no conflicting data was presented. A C-47 and a C-54 were recorded at Hickam Air Base around the same time, but no additional corroboration from other witnesses or agencies was received. Despite the lack of physical or photographic evidence, the report reflects a clear and detailed observation of a phenomenon that did not match known aircraft of the era.
