🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1953, two U.S. military personnel at Pearson Air Base in Honshu, Japan, spotted an unidentified object in the sky. The sighting lasted only two seconds, but it was enough to leave an impression. The object appeared to the east-northeast, moving downward at a 70-degree angle. Its color changed progressively from red to blue-green and finally to white before vanishing. The trail it left behind was more than ten times its diameter and followed the same color pattern.
Although the witnesses tried to estimate the object's size, altitude, and distance, these data are considered unreliable due to the brief nature of the observation. One of them compared the object's size to a basketball and estimated the trail to be half a mile long. However, these estimates cannot be verified. The official conclusion pointed to a meteor, though the report is described as very vague. There were no photos or physical evidence, making further analysis difficult.
